Mini symposium 16 June: “how do you reach the generation of today?”
A workshop for anyone who deals with teenagers at work or in their private life. It centres on working with the current generation (16 – 25 years).
The core aim of the workshop is to build familiarity with, and recognition of, today’s youth culture. A whistle-stop tour from the adolescent brain, through social media, to practical pointers participants can put to use straight away.
The workshop covers a number of themes, including:
– Development of the young person’s brain (the adolescent brain)
– Mobile phone culture
– How your own behaviour is mirrored in the behaviour of the young person
– Young people’s need for clarity
– What young people are willing to take responsibility for themselves
– Social media and its influence
– Understanding why rules matter for young people
– How to work with the current generation
A refreshing, clear and practically minded workshop that moves briskly between theory and everyday practice.
175 staff from the health and welfare sector have already taken this workshop.
